Valley Springs Community Plan to be discussed by PC August 27, 2020
According to an email from Peter Maurer to the CPC, the Valley Springs Community Plan is on the agenda to be discussed at the next Planning Commission meeting on August 27.
To participate in the meeting online, please see our letter with instructions here . You will find contact information for all Planning Commissioners there, as well as links to the Planning Commission’s website with agendas and attendance info for online meetings. Read the Valley Springs Community Plan here . See a 3 minute video on the Valley Springs Community Plan here .
(1) Mention where you live so your commissioner and your supervisor will know you care.
(2) Say you want your commissioner and your supervisor to vote for the Valley Springs Community Plan.
(3) Say you want the Valley Springs Community Plan approved so the County can move on to preparing the community plans for other areas waiting in line like Copperopolis, Arnold, Avery/Hathaway Pines, and Murphys/Douglas Flat.
(4) Remind the officials that two community draft plans for Valley Springs were submitted back in 2010. One plan was prepared by a coalition led by the Calaveras Council of Governments and included the Planning Department as a project partner. The other plan was submitted by a committee appointed by Supervisor Tofanelli. Valley Springs has certainly demonstrated its desire for a community plan. Ten years is too long to wait for the adoption of a community plan.
(5) Note that the currently proposed plan includes a broad spectrum of goals and policies from both of the draft plans to guide future economic development and conservation in Valley Springs.
(6) Note that the plan conforms to the format approved by the Planning Department.
(7) Thank the Planning Department for circulating the plan for public review.
