Upper Mokelumne River Watershed Authority hosts Community Workshop

Mokelumne-Amador-Calaveras (MAC) Regional Water Management Plan Update

Interested in efforts underway in planning how local water resources are managed? Residents and individuals interested in water resource planning issues in Amador, Calaveras and western Alpine Counties are invited to attend an upcoming Community Workshop to learn about a regional effort to update the MAC Integrated Regional Water Management Plan (MAC Plan), originally adopted in 2006. The updated MAC Plan will meet state requirements and enhance eligibility for state grants.

UMRWA is hosting the third community workshop for the MAC Plan on September 24, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers of the Amador County Administration Building located at 810 Court Street in Jackson, CA.  All interested parties are invited to attend the workshop to learn about and participate in the MAC Plan Update process. The workshop will provide an opportunity to provide comments and input on the Plan Update, including the MAC region’s policies, goals, and objectives and the projects and prioritization process included in the Plan.  In addition, the Camanche Area Regional Water Supply Project, being developed in parallel with the MAC Plan, will be introduced.

Questions regarding the MAC Plan update should be directed to Rob Alcott at robalcott@aol.com.
