D2 Community Plans will be presented to the Planning Commission
Thursday, July 14, all community plans from D2 and a few more will be considered by the Calaveras Planning Commission for approval and inclusion in the General Plan Update. This topic will be the only one on the Agenda so you are encouraged to arrive at 9:00 a.m. when the meeting begins.
Planning Director, Peter Maurer, has met with representatives from all communities and is recommending versions of our plans which very closely resemble those which we created and submitted to the county in April, 2009. We have waited a very long time for this moment and should feel proud that we are finally being heard and that all interested parties will find our plans included in the updated General Plan, not hidden away in a file cabinet or in a separate volume.
Please try to attend to show your support for all the hard work we did. There will be a public comment period during which you may comment if you feel inclined.
I will be out of town next week but hope there will be a nice crowd to encourage the Planning Commission to adopt our plans!
