CPC’s ongoing efforts to improve county Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan
One of the recent priorities of the volunteer-driven Calaveras Planning Coalition has been the county’s draft Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory and Reduction Plan, which is currently being reviewed by the Planning Commission.
Completion of this plan is necessary as part of the 2019 General Plan Update, which included numerous incomplete components to be done at a later date. The CPC has been following the document’s progress and has concerns about its findings and recommendations, and of the likelihood of successful implementation by the county.
A strong GHG Reduction Plan could position the county very well for myriad grants and programs, and steering the county toward these opportunities is one of the CPC’s main goals.
