CPC Member walking to raise funds for local causes
A longtime Calaveras Planning Coalition member, Mickey Williamson is launching a summer-long fundraiser. Here’s what she has to share…
“My name is Mickey Williamson, and I am launching a summer-long fundraiser. Between July 1 and September 30, I will track every mile I walk or hike for exercise and enjoyment. I think that will be over 200 miles. I invite you to make a pledge per mile, or simply pledge a single donation. If a donation, you can give it now or wait until the end of September or any time in between.
I am aiming for $3000! One of the organizations receiving funding is the United Church of Christ church I attend in Murphys, which is on its way to being a Climate Justice church and just invested in solar for the building. Another organization receiving funding is the Community Action Project which has been advocating for years for strong county planning that preserves our open spaces and rural lands. Please designate which organization you wish to receive your donation or pledge. To let me know of a pledge or donation, just send me an email: mickeyw46@gmail.com.
I thank you in advance! I know how many pleas there are for contributions of many kinds. If you are one of my local friends, your money stays local! If you are not, just think of the good you are doing in a small rural county with limited assets!”
