CAP/CPC presents: Let’s Talk About…WATER & THE DROUGHT
Monday, September 15, 2014 – 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
San Andreas Library Chesebrough Room
Public welcome -Free admission
Last year’s snowpack was only 17 percent of normal and 2013 turned out to be one of the state’s driest years on record. California is now experiencing its third consecutive dry year.
In Calaveras, residents are concerned about the capacity of their wells, public utilities are being challenged to meet their water needs and we are all being asked to restrict our water usage.
Join us for a discussion about our local water resources, water rights and water conservation.
FEATURED SPEAKERS:
Brian Moss: Administrator, Calaveras County, will discuss the Calaveras County Groundwater Management Program. You will learn about surface water as well as underground water resources.
Tom Infusino: Sierra Land Use Attorney, will attempt to unravel the complex maze of Water Rights in California, how they have evolved and how they may change in severe drought conditions.
Joel Metzger: Service Manager, will help us rethink the way we use water –both indoors and outdoors so we can stretch our limitedsupplies and ensure water is there when we need it.
