Call for Artists!

We are seeking artists to become part of our upcoming “AnimalScapes of the Sierra Nevada Foothills” event.  Through art, we will raise awareness of the multiple agencies and organizations who advocate for, protect, and nurture our animal community in the Sierra Foothills.

Calaveras County Arts Council will lead the project, in partnership with Amador Arts Council, Tuolumne County Arts Alliance, The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), and the California Department of Fish & Wildlife.

This juried art exhibit will consist of three, month-long shows, January through March 2016, one in each county.  Artists will depict images of animals, both wild and domestic, in the backdrops of the Sierra Nevada Foothills.  Cash awards will be given per discipline.  A 2017 Wall Art calendar with select images from the exhibit will be produced at the conclusion of the project.

Go to www.calaverasarts.org, to find out more and apply online. The application deadline isSeptember 25, 2015.

We are excited about this project and look forward to sharing the works of our local artists in another Creative California Communities event.

Sincerely,

Sandra Peterson
