Calaveras County Planning Commission Public Hearing for Zoning Map Amendment

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

ZONING AMENDMENT AFFECTING SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF COUNTY PARCELS

Project 2020-065 ZONING MAP AMENDMENTCalaveras County is proposing to amend the Zoning Map to bring the zoning into conformance with the General Plan.  The zoning amendment proposes to change the zoning for 5780 parcels that are currently zoned U, Unclassified and HS, Highway Service, identified as interim zones, to one of the following zones: RR, Rural Residential, RA, Residential Agriculture, A1, General Agriculture, GF, General Forest, or REC, Recreation, based on the land use designation of the General Plan as identified in Table LU-2 of the General Plan..  Additionally, 1150 parcels with zones that are inconsistent with the land use designations are proposed to be changed to a compatible zone pursuant to Table LU-2.  The proposed zoning may be viewed on the County’s website at:

The map amendment has been determined to be a subsequent project under the Environmental Impact Report for the General Plan, certified in 2019, SCH# 2017012043.  

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Calaveras County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on February 11, 2021 at 9:00 a. m. or soon thereafter to consider the above referenced project.  The public hearing will be held remotely due to health concerns surrounding COVID-19. Information and instructions for viewing and participating in the remote hearing can be found in the Planning Commission agenda, which can be viewed online at https://calaverasgov.us/Meeting-Calendar, or in person in the Planning Department.

 

Pursuant to Government Code 65009, if anyone challenges the above listed issues in a court of law, the challenge may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raise at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Commission, at or prior to, the public hearing. You are welcome to review the application at the Calaveras County Planning Department during normal working hours, 8:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m., Monday through Friday except county holidays.
