Calaveras Board of Supervisors establishes process for new county sheriff
At yesterday’s Board meeting, public members asked the Board to select a new sheriff from within the department to finish out deceased Sheriff Kuntz’s term. The candidate Gary defeated in the last sheriff election is seeking to be appointed now. Many believe he should wait and run for the office again after the appointed person has completed filling this vacant position.
