League of Women Voters of the Mother Lode to host Candidates Forum
The League of Women Voters of the Mother Lode is ready for the 2024 election season. The primary election is on March 5. We have invited all of the candidates for the Calaveras Board of Supervisors to contribute their information and views free to our website Vote411.org. Anyone can go to that website and learn about candidates and measures on their ballot just by putting in their address. Information about the voting process is there, too.
The League is a political, non-partisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. It does not support or oppose candidates. The League has been in existence for nearly 104 years. Our local group was formed about 5 years ago, and includes Calaveras and Tuolumne counties. Membership is open to anyone 16 years or older.
We will be hosting a candidates forum on Thursday, February 15 at the San Andreas Town Hall for the two contested races for Board of Supervisors. The 3 candidates for District 1 and the 4 for District 2 will be invited. Everyone is welcome.
Voter registration events are also planned. For more information about the League of Women Voters, go to our website www.lwvml.org.
