BOS Revisits Copperopolis Community Plan
Calaveras Enterprise
Friday March 9, 2012
Calaveras County’s Board of Supervisors will revisit the Copperopolis Community Plan at its next meeting Tuesday.
The county is applying for one of CalTrans’ community-based transportation grants to help fund a land-use and transportation community plan for Copperopolis.
The state grants are designed to improve mobility while efficiently using the region’s current infrastructure. Applications are due April 2.
At last week’s supervisors meeting, the board voted to form a new Copperopolis Community Plan Advisory Committee. The committee will consist of seven members chosen by the Board of Supervisors, and will be tasked with drafting Copperopolis’ 2020 community vision. To apply, visit www.co.calaveras.ca.us or call 754-6370.
Prior to taking on the community plan, the board will vote on whether to increase the county Public Defender’s budget by $50,000. The money will go toward expert testimony. According to the Public Defender, the expert testimony account has been depleted as a result of increased invoices approved by the court. Unlike most resolutions which need a majority consensus to pass, the budget increase requires the approval of four board members.
