Calaveras Local Fire Protection Tax Initiative

Did you know there are places in Calaveras County that have a ONE HOUR response time? That first hour is critical, whether you’ve had a stroke or a fire is spreading quickly from a carelessly tossed cigarette.

By increasing local SALES tax by only 1 cent per dollar spent, we can capture revenue from locals and tourists and put it to work protecting our local communities and supporting our amazing firefighters.

If you are interested in increasing funding for our LOCAL fire stations and improving response times and staffing levels, please consider supporting this initiative. There will be opportunities to sign the petition to get the initiative on the ballot, to help gather signatures, and to make donations for printing and other costs. Our firefighters and first responders do a phenomenal job but they deserve more support!
