2014 Wild and Scenic Film Festival
The 12th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival is Proud to Announce the Presence of Three Time Academy Award Nominated Actress Debra Winger
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival (WSFF), the largest environmental film festival of its kind, announced today that three-time Academy Award nominated actress, Debra Winger, will be in attendance.
Debra Winger is an esteemed actress, appearing in classic films such as An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment, Urban Cowboy and many others. She is also a writer, producer, and activist.
She was a co-producer of the Academy Award nominated documentary film, Gasland, credited by many for having brought the subject of fracking and its ramifications into a national spotlight. She is currently the executive producer of Gasland 2, the powerful sequel film that will be featured at the film festival.
“We are honored and humbled to have Ms. Winger’s presence at the film festival,” said Melinda Booth, director of the festival. “She is a leader in the environmental movement and will undoubtedly add tremendous excitement to the festival, and more importantly, offer important depth and perspective on the issue of fracking.”
The film festival, hosted in the historic downtowns of Nevada City and Grass Valley from January 9 through January 12, brings together environmental activists, celebrities and top influencers to view more than 120 films over four days. For more information, visit WildandScenicFilmFestival.org
