The Latest on Calaveras County Redistricting

Follow the county discussions on the redistricting of County Supervisor districts. Based on recent census data, proposed changes would extend District 3 (currently above Murphys to the boundary with Alpine County) to include Murphys and its surrounding area.  District 4 (currently Angels Camp and Murphys) would lose Murphys but pick up Copperopolis.  District 5 would lose Copperopolis and keep Rancho Calaveras; it would also extend into some of the western boundaries of the county.  District 1 would include Valley Springs and San Andreas, with District 2 having some minor changes.

None of these decisions are final; public hearings continue.  You can view a detailed map of the proposed changes on the Calaveras County website.  You can click on this map and change the enlargement so that you can see specific roads.

Videos of public hearings on the redistricting are available here
