State of California General Plan Guidelines Draft Released, Workshops in November

On October 12, the Governors Office of Planning and Research (OPR) released a public draft of the update to General Plan Guidelines (GPG) for the State of California. The draft GPG is available for public review, questions, and comments. The public comment period ends December 18. The draft GPG document is available here on the OPR website.

“This comprehensive update seeks to create a suite of tools for planners, practitioners, and the general public to help update local general plans. OPR will be holding multiple community outreach events throughout California during the public comment period for the draft GPG update. Planners, practitioners, and community members are invited to attend and learn about the updated guidelines, ask questions, and share their feedback.”

Community Outreach Sessions are scheduled throughout the state, including Nov. 6 in Sacto and Nov. 16 in Stockton. There will be a workshop in Sacramento Friday, Nov. 6, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and in Stockton Monday, Nov 16, 9:30-1:30pm. Click Sacto and Stockton links for more information on General Plan Guidelines and to Register for workshops.
