UPUD Announces Open Seat on Water Board
The board of directors of the Union Public Utility District is calling for applications to fill a vacancy on the board.
Director and Vic President of the Board, Raymond Behrbaum resigned on November 7. His resignation was accepted at the November 16th board meeting and the board is now looking for someone to complete his term until the next scheduled election in 2013.
UPUD is a special district serving Murphys, Douglas Flat, Vallecito, the Six Mile area and the Carson Hill area. Directors are required to attend regular monthly board meetings and other meetings as appropriate. The monthly board meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. Directors are also required to complete ethics and Brown Act training.
Applicants must live within the district boundaries and be registered voters. Interested residents must submit a letter of interest and a resume or application that includes a statement of qualifications and other information that will assist the board in making a selection.
Residents may pick up an application and UPUD boundary map at the UPUD offices at 339 Main Street in Murphys or may request those items via e-mail at upudadmin@goldrush.com.
Applications must be received by 5 pm on Friday, December 16, 2011. Applicants will be contacted by staff if they have been selected for an interview. The board will deliberate at it’s January 18th meeting .
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on December 21st at the District office.
