General Plan Study Session Scheduled for November 22
The Board of Supervisors agenda (available here) shows a Study Session “Refinements to the General Plan Preferred Land Use Map” at 2:00 pm. This is an important next step in the General Plan process and we encourage all of you who can find the time to attend and make sure your concerns are being addressed.
The entire agenda packet is available here. The agenda packet includes Planning Department documents for the Study Session but you’ll have to scroll about 2/3 of the way through the packet to the sections labeled Agenda Submittal “Refinements to the General Plan Preferred Land Use Map” and “Comment Letters Received on Alternatives Report.”
Among the recommendations for the tasks to be accomplished at this Study Session are:
- Identify all the factors and assumptions in the build-out population
- Address existing “unimproved” lots
- Increase the number of land use designations to allow distinctions and acknowledgement of existing built-out areas
- Incorporate transition areas, clustering, and density transfers in Resource Production Lands
- Conduct outreach to ensure the land uses in Community Plan areas are the current, proposed land uses
- Incorporate local knowledge in the General Plan process
- Bring back a Preferred Land Use Plan for the December 13th meeting.
Make sure your voice is heard during this process by staying involved.
