Calaveras Planning Coalition held second public meeting
The Community Action and the Calaveras Planning Coalition held our second public meeting on May 12. The topic of the meeting was “Let’s Talk About…..why community plans matter.” The guest speakers were Fawn McLaughlin D2 Planning Commissioner and member of the Mokelumne Hill Planning Group, Joyce Techel, president of MyValleySprings.com, discussing the grant funded Community Plan for Valley Springs with citizen support and participation and, finally, Jim Kavanaugh, member of Citizens for San Andreas, who worked on both the San Andreas Community Plan and Mobility Plans. CPC Facilitator Tom Infusino also spoke about a possible way forward for the citizens as we go through the completion of the General Plan Update. This meeting was videoed and is available on the CAP web site at calaverascap.com.
