League of Women’s Voters of the Mother Lode releases 2021-2023 Study of Rural Homelessness in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties

The League of Women’s Voters of the Mother Lode has released their 2021-2023 Study of Rural Homelessness in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. The study was supported by the LWV membership, and sought to answer many questions about the homeless population, from determining how many homeless are in both counties to establishing more specific considerations for youth and elderly homeless. In addition to publishing their findings, the LWV agreed upon 5 clear consensus statements, from supporting emergency shelters and services to acknowledging the need for a different approach in rural vs urban communities.
