Rebecca Willis Is New Planning Director for Calaveras County

The Board of Supervisors has announced the appointment of Rebecca Willis as the new Director of Planning effective August 1, 2010. Ms. Willis has over twenty (20) years of experience. She served as the community development director for the city of Oakley for the last six years, and prior to that, the city of Dixon. Earlier in her career, she was a planner for the cities of West Sacramento, Rancho Cucamonga, and San Dimas. Rebecca’s experience includes a wide range of environmental and land use planning, including a habitat conservation plan, a wetlands restoration project, downtown specific plan, master planned communities, and General Plans.

Rebecca has a B.A. in Environmental Studies and is a member of the nationally-recognized American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). She has a son attending Arizona State University, a daughter in high school, two farm dogs, and an unknown number of frogs that reside on her rural property north of Lodi. Outside of work, she enjoys kayaking and mountain bike riding.
