Calaveras Water District (CCWD) Meeting Info

Regular Board Meetings of the Calaveras County Water District are “generally” held the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am in the CCWD Board Room.  Special Board Meetings are “generally” held the fourth Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am.  CCWD asks that you call their office to confirm dates andtimes of meetings (209 754 3543).

The District

The taxing authority of the District includes all of Calaveras County. The District currently provides water service to approximately 12,500 municipal and residential / commercial customers in four improvement districts located throughout the County. The District currently provides sewer service to approximately 4,500 customers in six improvement districts located throughout the County.  Click here for a map of water service districts in Calaveras County.

Government and Management

The district is governed by a 5-member Board of Directors who are elected by qualified voters in their respective districts.

District Powers

The District is a public non-profit agency.   As a special district, CCWD’s powers include provision of public water service, water supply development and planning, wastewater treatment and disposal, and recycling.  The District has broad general powers over the use of water within it’s boundaries, including the right of eminent domain,, and, subject to Article XIIIA of the State constitution, to levy taxes and improvements.
